Kassia in Drayton to offer an evening of free food if England win the World Cup 2026

Three games to go for the Three Lions

A restaurant in Portsmouth is offering free meals for a night if England win the World Cup, and two nights of free meals if they win it in style.

Kas Miah, who owns Kassia and a number of eateries in the area, has announced that Kassia in Drayton and Pasha in Cowplain will feed customers for free if the Three Lions win the final on July 19.

With the country still on a high after the dramatic 3-2 win over Mexico in the early hours of Monday morning, Kas believes that the team has a good chance of going all the way.

He said: “When they played DR Congo and were one nil down, I said to my mates they are going to win 2-1 and they did despite playing some of their worst football. Then against Mexico they played some of their best and I think there is a chance they could win it, never say never. With Portugal out, Germany out, it is there to be had.

“If England win I am going to feed people for free at Kassia, and if they win in style I will feed people for free for two days. I would want it to be a full house, I will put it out there and say anyone that books in will be fed for free. I don't care if it costs me money, it will be a celebration.”

Following the victory over the co-hosts Mexico, Thomas Tuchel’s men now face the daunting prospect of taking on Norway who are spearheaded by Premier League superstars Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard.

If they were to get past the Vikings on Saturday night, they would then move on to face the winners of the tie made up of the victors of Argentina v Egypt and Switzerland v Colombia in the semi-final.

Despite the sterner tests ahead, Kas has not made the offer lightly. He said: “I think we can do it. I am not announcing it because I don’t think it will happen, the way they have played I think it is possible and I want them to do it.”
