A POPULAR pub in Milton is to close as the landlords announce they can no longer continue to run the venue.

The Milton Arms, in Milton Road, shut its doors ‘for the last time’ last night, according to a post on the pub’s Facebook page.

The statement said: ‘It’s with a really heavy heart we have shut our doors last night for the last time.

‘(We) would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers old and new, our regulars, our football regulars and all the people who have held an event.

Landlords Colin Nash and his wife Jayne have run the Ei-owned pub since taking on the lease in 2016.

Last year, the couple supported homeless people during the ‘beast from the east’ snowstorm, offering those in need free shelter and food during the storm.

The post from the pub’s staff added: ‘We have many years of good memories, we will miss you all.

‘Good luck stay safe and see you all around.’

The landlords have been approached for comment.
