The Heron reopens in Leigh Park after six-figure transformation

‘We have even more reasons to be proud of this pub’

A popular Leigh Park pub has reopened after undergoing a vibrant transformation as part of a six-figure refurbishment.

The Heron on Petersfield Road was closed for a month to allow the works to take place with general manager Yvonne Brown welcoming back customers on Friday, October 17. The new look Hungry Horse pub now boats an improved sports offering ad a range of modern comforts.

Yvonne said: “We are delighted to be open again after a month-long refurbishment. We’re proud to offer fantastic experiences for all the family here at The Heron, and now we have even more reasons to be proud of this pub and what we can offer the local community.

“We have a delicious range of food and drinks with menus to suit all tastes and occasions, as well as great sports and entertainment. Come on in and experience The Heron’s warm hospitality today!”

The Heron has a new open-plan layout and has been given a bright colour scheme and comfortable new furniture. There is a dedicated sports area for darts and pool while the TV screens and sound system have been upgraded for a better viewing experience.

As well as a revamped look, its social programme has also changed with entertainment such as rock ‘n’ roll bingo on Wednesdays, a general knowledge quiz every Thursday from 8pm and DJ nights on the last Saturday of the month added.

As part of the official opening, The Heron made a donation to local charity Friends Fighting Cancer as part of its efforts to support local community initiatives.
