Gardening: Wonky veg, wonky people - let's celebrate them all | Southsea Green
A wander through the Southsea Green garden is a reminder that gardens are not always pristine. In fact the best never truly are.
The idea that things must be ‘perfect’ is what stops many from having a go at gardening and is something we never insist on. Flowers and branches may be twisting and twirling, vegetables may be wonky and rambling but this is what perfect means to us. I always say these stems are the magical ones, the ones with character and plenty of charm.

This is often the best way with people too and all we humans ever need is gentle encouragement, perhaps now more than ever. Kindness costs nothing, seeds not much more. Let’s all grow, twirling, twisting and wonky and celebrate it in every way possible.
