Historic St James Park housing development launches new show homes
New show homes have launched at a housing development
Two new show homes have launched at a grade II listed development that was previously used as a military hospital.
St James Hospital, located in Locksway Road, was formerly used to treat infectious diseases before becoming a military hospital during the First World War. The site evolved into an NHS mental health hospital before closing in 2018.

The land, which is now known as St James Park, was then sold to developer, PJ Livesey Group, in January 2019 and work has been ongoing to establish hundreds of homes ever since.
Helen Asteris, head of south coast new homes at Savills, said: “St. James Park offers something truly special for homebuyers, combining the character and history of a landmark Southsea setting with thoughtfully designed contemporary homes built for modern living.
“The opening of our new show homes gives prospective buyers the chance to experience first-hand the quality, space and attention to detail that make this development so unique.”
The new homes combine contemporary living within existing buildings and grounds to create properties fill of character. There are also newly built three-bedroom, semi-detached and mews houses on the land, with prices from £324,950.
Whilst the heritage conversion apartments provide a unique opportunity to own a home rich in history with options ranging from one- to three-bedrooms and prices from £264,950.
