House prices rise in Portsmouth, Gosport and Winchester but fall in Havant and Fareham
Data from the Land Registry reveal how house prices have changed in the city and the surrounding towns.
Figures showed that there was a 1.5 per cent increase in Portsmouth between April and May.

Hide AdDuring the month the average house price in the city was £216,463.
The boost contributes to the longer-term trend, which has seen property prices in the area grow by 2.9 per cent in a year.
Over the last year, the average sale price of property in Portsmouth rose by £6,100.

Hide AdLand Registry figures show that the average price paid for a home in the area during the month was £214,343.
The data also shows that property prices in Gosport have increased by 4.3 per cent over the last year, with the average sale rising by £8,800.
It was less good news for homesellers in other parts of the area.
The average house price dropped by 0.9 per cent in Fareham in May, while Havant saw a fall of 3.4 per cent from April.

Hide AdAcross the south east prices decreased by 1.1 per cent, compared to a 0.3 per cent rise across the UK.
The average Fareham house price in May was £293,943, Land Registry figures show, but property prices in the area suffered a 0.5 per cent annual decline.
In Havant the average price paid during the month was £258,401.

Hide AdDespite the drop in May, the property prices in the area have experienced 0.1 per cent annual growth and the average sale price rose by £220 during that time period.
The figures also showed that house prices remained steady in East Hampshire in May, with the average price paid during the month being £377,625.
Land Registry figures however show that over the last year property prices in the area have grown by 3.4 per cent with the average sale price rising by £12,000.
In the Winchester City Council area house prices increased by 1.4 per cent in May, with the average price of £437,807 paid during the month.
