The initiative is aimed at driving awareness among consumers of the importance of choosing a lettings and management agent who is part of a Client Money Protection (CMP) Scheme.

‘We are proud to be part of the nationwide SAFEagent campaign aimed at protecting tenants’ and landlords’ money,’ says Matthew Lovejoy, residential lettings manager at Fox & Sons.

‘There are still too many people unaware of the risks of using an uninsured agent and we want all customers that walk through our doors to have peace of mind when using our services.’

Fox & Sons carries the easily identifiable SAFEagent logo enabling tenants and landlords to immediately see that their money is protected: ‘Everyone looking to rent or let should ensure that they use a firm which is part of a CMP scheme and look for the SAFEagent logo.

‘If the agent cannot provide you with this assurance, then you need to question why not?’, Matthew concludes.

SAFEagent is backed by industry and consumer organisations such as the Citizens Advice Bureau, The Property Ombudsman, the Trading Standards Institute; the campaign has also received the support of the government since its launch in 2011. Fox & Sons in Southsea is a well-regulated, ARLA-qualified letting agent which conducts professional inventories, provides a tailor made approach and is a member of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme.

The branch offers a range of lettings services and advice, from matching tenants to their ideal properties to full property management, rent collection and insurance.
