Alison Patterson, 14, has won a place at the official qualifier for Miss British Isles 2017 – the Junior Miss South East competition, which will take place at the Mercure Hotel, Watford, on March 5.

The sponsorship fee starts from £150 and will help Alison cover advertising opportunities, professional photography, local promotional opportunities and further PR if she wins the event.

The family thought they had someone to pay the fee, but it fell through.

Alison, who attends Oaklands Catholic School in Waterlooville, is one of 20 finalists hoping to win.

She said: ‘This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, and I really want to represent Hampshire in the competition. I appreciate any sponsorship or support that people can give me.’

The winner of this round will get a £1,500 modelling contract and will qualify for the national final of the competition, along with two other runners-up, on June 17 in Liverpool. For more information go to missbritishisles.com or call 0333 8000 590.
