Fareham Live’s star-studded line-up ushers in new era at redeveloped premier venue
Fareham Live is breathing new life into the former Ferneham Hall site, with a complete redevelopment and is set to launch as the region’s premier community, arts and entertainment venue.
Boasting a larger main auditorium complete with a fly tower, with theatrical rigging system to support high-quality performances, the eagerly anticipated new hub also features a secondary performance space, new bar and café area, dance studio and spaces for community groups and organisations.
Jason Donovan extravaganza starts line-up
Already creating a buzz with its recently announced line-up, Fareham Live will raise its curtains on October 1 with the all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza The Rocky Horror Show, starring Jason Donovan as the iconic Dr Frank-N-Furter.
After the high-energy launch with Richard O’Brien’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll musical, the programme will continue to entertain audiences with a variety of musical performances, including That’ll Be the Day (Nov 3) and Beyond the Barricade – 25th Anniversary Tour (Nov 8).
The legendary Drifters will set the stage alight on November 2, captivating the crowd with their timeless classics. Hot on their heels, the sensational Jane McDonald will delight Fareham with her new tour ‘With All My Love’ on November 9.
The beat goes on further with a line-up of world-leading tribute artists, including The Illegal Eagles (Oct 8), Michael Starring Ben (Oct 9), The ELO Show (Oct 10), Think Floyd (Oct 27), Thank You for the Music (Nov 1) and Legend – The Music of Bob Marley (Nov 7), among others.
With a significant commitment to nurturing grassroots theatre, Fareham’s premier amateur theatre group – Fareham Musical Society – is poised to showcase several productions. 'Shrek the Musical' is on the cards for October 26, offering audiences ogre-sized entertainment, vibrant dance routines and an uplifting message of self-acceptance. Following closely, the cherished musical 'Annie Jr' takes the stage from November 22 to 24, promising equal measures of pluck and positivity.
Comedy lovers can have their ribs tickled with several shows from some of the nation’s premier comedians, starting with edgy comedic one-liner Jimmy Carr in his brand new show ‘Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny’ (Oct 30). The comedy continues with hilarious Aurie Styla and his biggest tour to date, The Aurator Tour, which will hit Fareham Live on November 8.
Younger theatre-goers have not been forgotten. Direct from the West End, the Olivier Award-nominated smash hit show The Tiger Who Came to Tea arrives from Fri 18th October – Sunday 20th, followed by the Pop Princesses, who will be bringing their fabulous new show to Fareham Live on October 27.
Rounding off a jam-packed season of performances is the magical family pantomime Cinderella, presented by award-winning Imagine Theatre and featuring dancing duo AJ & Curtis Pritchard as the dashing Prince Charming and Dandini.
