The search is on to find the best maritime companies in the region and give them the recognition they deserve – but they will have to be in it to win it!

Applications are now open to the Maritime UK Solent Awards 2024. With 13 award categories in the programme there are plenty of opportunities for businesses, large and small, established and brand new, to share their stories and their successes and to showcase their work to a wider audience.

We encourage the Solent’s maritime businesses to apply to this year’s Maritime UK Solent Awards. It is a unique opportunity to showcase their achievements within the region’s thriving maritime sector over the past year and provide a platform for further success. The high-profile awards ceremony in October will champion the region as a global hub for maritime excellence and will celebrate the very best of our incredible sector.

Jamie said: “It was absolutely fantastic to win an award at Maritime UK and humbling given the strength of the other finalists. It’s amazing to think that we only started six years ago and we’re now getting this level of industry recognition which is a testament to the efforts of our incredible team and their passion for the marine sector.

“Being successful in the Maritime UK Solent 2023 Awards was undoubtedly important in positioning us for this national award. We’ve got ambitious plans for the future and this recognition is invaluable for us we look to increase our footprint internationally and also in recruiting talent into the team.”

The development from regional to national award winner demonstrates that the Maritime UK Solent Awards celebrates the best of the region’s maritime sector, many of whom go on to be recognised on the national and international maritime stage.

Whilst NASH Maritime focuses on safety at sea, another winner is helping inspire the next generation into maritime industries.

Principal of Cowes Enterprise College Rachel Kitley was last year’s winner of the Maritime Legacy category, sponsored by Solent Stevedores.

She said: “It's made such a difference to what we're doing at Cowes Enterprise College. It helped us reach new heights with the backing of this award success and it’s also helped us reach more people with our legacy.

“Every child in the school, regardless of their backgrounds, their previous experiences, their gender, all learn about the range of maritime careers that are on our local doorstep.

It’s about inspiring them and making their learning a joy so they can also see a point to staying in the Solent region and having amazing career prospects if they commit to the maritime industry.
