Pop on some cool goggles and join the divers as they discover the Mary Rose and her treasures with state-of-the-art Dive the Mary Rose 4D. See the raising of the Mary Rose in unforgettable style and hear the stories of the people that dived the ship from Tudor times until the 20th century. Incredibly you will be able to experience the sounds, smells, bubbles, wind and movement of a dive underwater.

Let your underwater adventure continue with Worlds Beneath the Waves by exploring 150 years of fascinating scientific exploration of the ocean. Find out more about how groundbreaking ship HMS Challenger, a ‘floating laboratory’ changed how we understand the ocean today and how the Royal Navy uses cutting edge technology to continue vital scientific discovery. Learn and play through interactive exhibits, get up and close and personal with Boaty McBoatface and create your own AI generated sea creature. This half term there will be a special trail with fun challenges and a maritime make and take.

Sail across the water on a waterbus to the Royal Navy Submarine Museum and explore the fascinating world of submarines. You will be awe struck when you visit the only remaining Second World War submarine, HMS Alliance - look through her original periscope and find out more about the fascinating stories of those that served onboard. The museum is full of great exhibits that will teach you all about the science of submarines, when you leave you won’t believe how much you have learned.

This half term there is an action-packed week of events and activities. Become a polar researcher for the day with British Antarctic Survey on 13 February 11am – 3pm. Bed down in a field camp complete with pyramid tent, sheepskin rug, sleeping bag and primus stove and see what’s on the menu. Find out about Antarctic wildlife, geography, science, operations and engineering.

If you are worn out from all the adventures you’ve been on, you can relax at the Mary Rose Museum on 10 February at 12pm and 2pm on 18 February with Tudors in Love: Calligraphy Crafts. Bring out your romantic side for Valentines and write a Tudor inspired love letter using a quill and ink pot.

This is without mentioning the ships that Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is world famous for. Climb aboard HMS Victory and discover what life was like at sea for Nelson and his crew. Meet a sailor or a Victorian lady on HMS Warrior and enjoy the magnificent splendour of Henry VIII’s favourite ship, the Mary Rose.
