Acts sought to show off their skills at contest
Charity Wessex Heartbeat has launched its own search for a local superstar in its Wessex Factor talent show.
Choirs, magicians, dancers and performers of all types are all welcome to take part - with the winners earning themselves a slot performing at the newly-refurbished Mayflower Theatre in Southampton during February, where they'll share the bill with some of the biggest stars in musical theatre.

Hide AdThey will take to the stage as part of Wessex Heartbeat's annual variety performance and, while the line-up is yet to be announced, it's expected to include a major West End performer as well as popular acts from across the region.
The Portsmouth area heat will take place on Wednesday, November 14 at Havant and South Downs College.
Entry is £10 with proceeds going to support Wessex

, with the top three acts going through to the finals in December.

The competition is open to acts of all types, from individual singers and musicians to school choirs, local dance groups and more.
