Spotted: John Lennon, Neil Armstrong, Elmo and an unidentified female 'hippy' at The Isle of Wight Festival 2019

In celebration of this year's theme of 'Summer of '69: Peace and Love', festival goers today were surprised to see John Lennon, Elmo and Neil Armstrong accompanied by a female 'hippy' exploring the site.

Posing for photos against various on site backdrops and landmarks in the festival site, in tribute to key events from 1969: the release of the Beatles' 'Abbey Road', the first man on the moon, Sesame Street's 50th anniversary and the Summer of '69 theme, the four characters caused quite the stir!

The Isle of Wight Festival is headlined tonight by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, other acts set to play across the day include Courteeners, Lily Allen, Freya Ridings, Jax Jones and Hacienda Classical.
