Alzheimer's Society makes cupcake Spinnaker Tower

DAB-HANDED volunteers and people with Alzheimer's have baked cakes in the shape of the city's most iconic tower.

Members of the Alzheimer’s Society in Portsmouth made the Spinnaker Tower out of cupcakes to raise awareness and cash on Wednesday. The initiative, started by the Alzheimer’s Society, saw volunteers gather at the John Pounds Centre in Queen Street, Portsea, Portsmouth, on Wednesday to sell their creations.

Lucy Debenham is services manager for the Alzheimer’s Society in Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.

Lucy said: ‘We’re very pleased to introduce Cupcake Day this year. We’re looking to raise as much money and awareness as possible, so people know that we are here to help.’
