17 astonishing aerial pictures as major Hilsea Lido project races towards finish line

The majority of a protective tent covering Hilsea Lido has been dismantled as work sprints towards the finish line.

The lido regeneration project, which is costing aprroximately £7.75m, will restore the 90-year-old pool to its former glory with new changing rooms, benches, tables, fountain, a fully functioning pool and a sauna.

A Portsmouth City Council spokesperson previously said: “Once it's complete, we'll hand the keys over to Sea Lanes, who will be running the site with South Downs Leisure. They'll need some time to train their staff, and bring in the extra equipment they need, but watch this space for an opening date.”
