Astronaut Tim Peake says he prefers his eggs '˜space scrambled'

The 43-year-old is more than a month into a six-month mission on board the International Space Station (ISS).

In a short video posted on his Twitter account at the weekend, Major Peake demonstrated how those on board the ISS cooked the breakfast treat.

He can be seen heating the vacuum-packed food, saying ‘give it about five minutes and it will be ready to eat’.

‘Not quite as good as at home, but they are definitely scrambled! Space scrambled eggs,’ he tweeted.

Major Peake, from Westbourne, near Emsworth, also shared with his 407,000 followers a satellite image on London after dark, saying: ‘London midnight Saturday – I’d rather be up here... but only just!’

In a busy first month aboard the ISS, he became the first Briton to complete an Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) or spacewalk and also backed a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and UK Space Agency project, Rocket Science, which will see children compare the growth of seeds currently in space with those that have not left Earth.
