At least 10 homes face 12-hour power cut after cable fault

Residents in Bognor Regis could be left without power for up to 12 hours today after a cable fault.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks confirmed at least 10 homes in the PO21 postcode area were affected.

It first received reports of a power failure at about 5.30am this morning, and the company have said they expect to have power restored by 5.30pm today.

A spokesperson said: ‘The power cut has been caused by an underground cable fault and we are currently aware of 10 properties in the area without power.

‘We have sent a customer and community advisor to join our repair team to ensure the community is informed.

‘We’d like to apologise to our customers for the inconvenience and thank them for their patience as we work to restore their power as quickly and as safely as possible.’
