'Muddy boots and paws welcome': The Brickmakers reopens in Swanmore following Punch Pubs & Co acquisition
A pub has opened
‘Muddy boots and paws welcome’ at a country pub which is embarking on a new adventure after being acquired.
The Brickmakers, in Swanmore, welcomed customers back on Tuesday, September 1 after the family-friendly venue closed at the start of summer due to Punch Pubs & Co acquiring the site.

At the helm are the new management partners Liam, Brooke and Cathy who hope to put their stamp on the pub, which was previously run by leaseholders, Koren and Gareth Blake.
Nervous residents originally assumed the pub would remain closed after the windows were boarded up in July for site safety while refurbishment works were completed in anticipation of its grand opening.
Taking to social media, the pub posted a picture of a sign that says: “Welcome to The Brickmakers from Cathy, Liam, Brooke and the team. Muddy boots and paws welcome.”
The post added: “What a day. Thank you to everyone who joined us on day one! There will be a few kinks along the way while we find our feet but we had a great day, meeting many of you for the first time
Punch Pubs & Co owns about 1,300 leased, managed, and independent community pubs across the UK, with the nearest pubs to the Brickmakers being The Filly in Brockenhurst and The Anglesey Arms in Chichester.
Punch Pubs & Co head of acquisitions, Andrew Cannons, said: “The Brickmakers will make a fantastic addition to our Punch family; its community focus and longevity locally have already made it a thriving community hub. With our upcoming investment, I’m excited for the pub’s future and looking forward to seeing our new partners and their team take it into a new chapter.”
