A single magistrate sitting behind closed doors issued 22 fines in a single day – with the vast majority of cases proved in the person’s absence.

Rhys Andrews, 20, of Billy Lawn Avenue, Leigh Park, admitted being outside of his home contrary to the Health Protection Regulations on January 23 and was fined £66 with a £34 surcharge.

Kelly Baker, 33, of Tarius Close, Gosport, was found guilty of being at a gathering of two people or more at Sapphire Close, Locks Heath, on January 19.

Perri Baverstock, 23, of Buckingham Green, Buckland, was found guilty of being at a gathering of two or more people in Eastern Road, Baffins, on February 7.

He was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Connor Cahill, 23, of First Avenue, Horndean, was found guilty of being outside his home, then in Fraser Road, without reasonable excuse on January 22.

He was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Jay Clasper, 19, care of Kings Terrace, Southsea, was found guilty of being at a gathering of two or more people in Mayfield Road, Gosport, on January 28.

Clasper was fined £480 with a £48 surcharge and £85 costs.

Thea Cutts, 59, of Parker Mews, London, was found guilty of being in Gosport - away from her home - on January 27.

She was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Zabar Fieruta, 25, of Lennox Road South, Southsea, was found guilty of being in Woodland Street, Fratton, with two or more people on January 31.

He was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.
