23 people in Portsmouth, Havant, Fareham and Gosport fined £35,225 in court for flouting Covid lockdown rules

A single magistrate sitting behind closed doors issued 22 fines in a single day – with the vast majority of cases proved in the person’s absence.

Rhys Andrews, 20, of Billy Lawn Avenue, Leigh Park, admitted being outside of his home contrary to the Health Protection Regulations on January 23 and was fined £66 with a £34 surcharge.

Kelly Baker, 33, of Tarius Close, Gosport, was found guilty of being at a gathering of two people or more at Sapphire Close, Locks Heath, on January 19.

She was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Perri Baverstock, 23, of Buckingham Green, Buckland, was found guilty of being at a gathering of two or more people in Eastern Road, Baffins, on February 7.

He was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Connor Cahill, 23, of First Avenue, Horndean, was found guilty of being outside his home, then in Fraser Road, without reasonable excuse on January 22.

He was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Jay Clasper, 19, care of Kings Terrace, Southsea, was found guilty of being at a gathering of two or more people in Mayfield Road, Gosport, on January 28.

Clasper was fined £480 with a £48 surcharge and £85 costs.

Thea Cutts, 59, of Parker Mews, London, was found guilty of being in Gosport - away from her home - on January 27.

She was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Zabar Fieruta, 25, of Lennox Road South, Southsea, was found guilty of being in Woodland Street, Fratton, with two or more people on January 31.

He was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Catalin Ghiran, 23, of Winterslow Drive, Leigh Park, was found guilty of being in Ferry Road, Southsea, with two or more people on January 31.

He was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Jonathan Hussey, 38, of Gisors Road, Milton, admitted being at a gathering in Millbank Street, Southampton, with two or more people on January 5.

Hussey was fined £66 with a £34 surcharge.

Lee Knight, 19, of Grosvenor Street, Southsea, was found guilty of being at a gathering in Belmont Street, Southsea, with two or more people on January 13.

He was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Christie Lockley, 28, of Salt Meat Lane, Gosport, was convicted of being at a gathering of more than two people at her home on January 23.

She was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Hannah Lording, 24, of Thyme Close, Gosport, was convicted of being in an outdoor place, Thatchers Copse Car Park in Meon Road, Titchfield, with two or more people on January 25.

Damian Matthews, 27, of Milton Road, Waterlooville, was convicted of being at Wellington Retail Park in Denmead without reasonable excuse with two or more people on January 21.

He was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

James McDermott, 25, of Ernest Road, Fratton, was convicted of being at a gathering in Montgomerie Road, Southsea, with two or more people on January 15.

He was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Jake Mills, 19, of Mayfield Road, Gosport, was convicted of being at a gathering at his home with two or more people on January 28.

He was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Ryszard Siwak, 33, of Hampshire Street, Buckland, was convicted of being in a gathering in an outdoor place in South Road, Buckland, on January 30.

He was fined £1,760 with an £85 surcharge and £85 costs.

John Stocks, 30, of Alexander Grove, Fareham, was convicted of being at a gathering of two or more people on January 23 in Salt Meat Lane, Gosport.

He was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Brandon Sweeney, 20, of Lynton Gardens, Fareham, was convicted of being outside of his home without reasonable excuse on January 27.

He was fined £1,173 with a £117 surcharge and £85 costs.

Lisa Taylor, 41, of Highcliff Avenue, Southampton, admitted being in South Street, Gosport, without a reasonable excuse on December 31 last year.

She was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Samuel Vasilia, 20, of New Road, Buckland, was convicted of being away from his home, in Ferry Road, without reasonable excuse.

He was fined £1,760 with a £176 surcharge and £85 costs.
