Addicts armed with knife 'challenge' Crookhorn man with young child asking for drugs

A MAN has been recalled to prison after a man and his young child were approached by addicts asking where to get drugs.

Two men approached the 26-year-old in Zeus Lane, Crookhorn, on June 24 at around 4.45pm.

Waterlooville police said: 'These suspects asked the 26-year-old if he knew where to get drugs, one of the suspects had a blade in his hand but did not offer any violence towards any person at the time.

‘The informant fled the scene and there was some confusion as the report never made it to police until the day afterwards.’

Two PCSOs scoured the area, with police checking CCTV, speaking to witnesses and known addicts.

Officers said two suspects were identified. A 34-year-old man was 'already known to police' and has been recalled to prison 'with immediate effect’.

Posting on social media, police added: 'Due to a lack of supporting evidence from all our sources we have been unable to charge the 28-year-old male.

‘This action was made by two PCSOs doing the enquiries and then linking up with three different teams across Hampshire Constabulary, Thames Valley Police and the Probation Service to bring together this action.’

Initially on the day of the incident police had said: ‘We are aware of a circulation around Facebook last night that a male and his son were challenged by two males and a knife was seen, in the Crookhorn area, specifically Zeus Lane.’
