Walkes appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court today (November 28) and pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified outside Fratton Park before his side's match against Fleetwood Town on October 20. 

The defender has issued an apology saying: '˜I have accepted my punishment and want to learn from this experience to grow as a person.'

He is a professional footballer who currently plays full-back for Pompey. Walkes is of Jamaican descent and is was born in Lewisham, London, in February 1997.  

Which teams has he played for? 

Walkes came through the academy at Tottenham Hotspur '“ making his debut for the North London side in the EFL Cup against Gillingham in September 2016. 

He played three times as captain for Spurs the group stage of UEFA Youth League in 2016. 

In 2017 he went on loan to Atlanta United in the MLS in America '“ playing 20 times during the sides debut season in the United States major football league.

Walkes scored his first goal for the Five Strips against the San Jose Earthquake in July 2017 and grabbed another in September of that year during a 7-0 routing of New England Revolution. 

After returning to Spurs, Walkes then joined Portsmouth. 

When did he sign for Pompey? 

After returning from Atlanta, Walkes was sent on loan to Portsmouth in January 2018, and spent the second half of the season at Fratton Park '“ playing 12 games, before suffering a hamstring injury in early-April which caused him to miss the rest of the season. 

Walkes then signed for Pompey permanently on July 18, signing a two year deal '“ with the option for a third year. 

Since arriving on loan in January, Walkes has played 21 times for Pompey in the league '“ scoring one goal, on his debut in a 2-2 draw with Doncaster Rovers in February.Â
