ARMED police responded to a burglary in Southsea today.

Neighbours gathered outside after hearing the commotion in Napier Road this afternoon.

A Hampshire police spokeswoman said: ‘We were called at 2.44pm today, August 27, to reports of a burglary in progress at an address on Napier Road, Southsea.

‘Officers attended and put a containment on the address, however the offender had already left.

‘Entry had been forced to the address and electronic equipment was stolen.

‘Anyone with information is asked to phone 101 with the reference 44200329947.
