Bishop's Waltham gunman hunt continues after police helicopter and dog search

ARMED police are still hunting for a gunman after a major search was carried out.

Last night Hampshire officers were at an address in Cricklemede, Bishop’s Waltham, after a woman called police having seen a man with a firearm.

The search involving armed officers, the dog unit and police helicopter started at 5.13pm yesterday.

Today officers are still searching for the man, whose name they know. He is understood to be a 26-year-old.

Portsmouth thug jailed for attack on shop worker - magistrates' court latest

A Hampshire police spokeswoman said: ‘We were called at 5.13pm to an address on Cricklemede, Bishop’s Waltham, after a woman reported seeing a man with a firearm.

‘An extensive search was conducted, with the assistance of armed response vehicles, dog unit, and a helicopter, however the suspect was not located.

‘Enquiries are ongoing to trace the 26-year-old man suspected of carrying the firearm.’
