Bloody machete discovery sparks police hunt for injured victim with one person arrested

POLICE carried out searches for an injured person after a bloody machete was discovered – with one person arrested over the incident.

Officers were called to Elizabeth Road in Worthing, West Sussex, shortly after 2.45pm yesterday after a member of the public found a machete covered in blood.

A nearby person was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife / bladed article in a public place, police said.

Officers carried out searches for anyone who may have been injured in the incident.

Forensics officers were seen collecting the weapon from the scene of the incident while a cordon guarded by the police was set-up.
