A 14-year-old has been arrested after a teenage boy was assaulted during a robbery in Southsea.

The 15-year-old victim had been walking through the Japanese gardens, near Canoe Lake, between 7pm and 7.30pm on Sunday when he was assaulted by two youths.

During the incident, the boy had his wallet and an Apple AirPod case stolen.

The youths were black, and one was described as wearing a Nike camouflage-style padded jacket.

As part of this investigation, officers have arrested a 14-year-old boy from Southsea on suspicion of robbery. He remains in custody at this time.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: ‘We have information to suggest that mobile phone footage of the incident may have been captured.

‘If you saw this incident take place, or captured any footage of it, please contact us.’
