Boy, 15, arrested after threatening to spit at police in Gosport

A TEENAGER has been arrested after threatening to spit at police officers in Gosport.

The 15-year-old boy was also detained on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

The incident happened on Thursday.

Gosport Police revealed details about the arrest while giving an update on patrol activity in the area.

In a post on Facebook, Inspector Matthew Wake wrote: ‘I've been really keen to keep you all updated with our patrol activity over the last couple of days but it's also important you know that even in these most unprecedented times our core functions of protecting vulnerable people and maintaining order still remain.

‘Today officers from the team have arrested a 21-year-old man from Gosport on suspicion of breaching a restraining order. In a separate incident officers have arrested a 15-year-old boy from Gosport on suspicion of causing criminal damage and threatening to spit at the constables.

‘The investigation into all offences are ongoing.

‘Thanks for your ongoing support.’
