Hannah Ramsay, of Salisbury Road, Cosham, woke up to find three cars were missing their wing mirrors, including her Volvo XC70 early yesterday morning.

She checked her home CCTV and saw a group of yobs casually approach her car at 2am - before one of them started to hammer at the pavement side wing-mirror.

The 41-year-old said: 'I went to the Co-op in the morning and saw something on the pavement and thought, ‘oh no, is that from my car’ – and it was.

'Then I saw a couple of cars in the same situation. It's infuriating.'

The area was struck by vandalism again last night, with Hannah reporting that a neighbour's car had lost its wing-mirror.

She said: 'It was an elderly couple's car. A neighbour came out and shouted at the group after they took of the wing-mirror.

She added: 'Why is this still happening? Why is nothing being done?’

Her exasperation comes after her car has lost three wing-mirrors to vandalism in the last 12 months - watching one group of teenagers smash her car last March.

She said: ‘Last time, we caught them in the act. My husband chased after them but they got away.'

And the mum-of-two said the repeated vandalism and anti-social behaviour is leaving her children paranoid about crime.

She said: ‘Because it's happened so many times, my son thinks there are gangsters everywhere - he thought they were following us home from the shops the other day. '

The recent spate of vandalism comes just a week after more than 60 residents attended a community meeting on crime at Drayton United Reformed Church, with police saying crime remained 'low' in the area.

A spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary said: 'We were called just after 1pm on March 4 to a report of damage to a vehicle on Salisbury Road, Cosham.

'The wing-mirror had been smashed off of the Volvo XC70 overnight.'
