Convoy of travellers pitch up in Southsea to mark first arrivals of the year

Caravans and cars descended on the grass area behind Clarence Pier at about 8pm this evening.

Around a dozen of the vehicles were located at the scene.

The arrival is thought to be the first influx of travellers in the area for the year.

Southsea Common is a regular destination for travellers every summer.
