Coronavirus in Portsmouth: Covid denier Hannah Dean investigated by Facebook after Asbo-style hospitals ban

SOCIAL media giant Facebook is ‘reviewing’ Covid conspiracist Hannah Dean’s account on the platform.

The 30-year-old, from Fareham, was handed a ban from all hospitals by Sussex police after being spotted and warned at Queen Alexandra Hospital on Sunday.

It comes after she was fined £200 for visiting the Cosham hospital, and others in the area, claiming they were quiet and not full of patients with coronavirus.

As revealed by The News, Ms Dean was given an Asbo-style community protection notice, banning her from all hospitals unless under certain circumstances.

In one of her latest claims she said her posts ‘won’t be down for long, because they don’t go against (Facebook) community standards’.

A Facebook spokeswoman said: ‘We are reviewing this account and will take action against any content that violates our policies.’

Harmful misinformation that could contribute to physical harm is removed by the social media firm. This also applies to false posts about the availability of essential services.

Some 167m warning notices have been displayed on Facebook content between March and October 2020.

Around 12m pieces of Covid-19 misinformation have been removed by the company.

She added: ‘We remove Covid-19 misinformation that could lead to imminent physical harm, including false claims about cures, treatments, the availability of essential services or the location and severity of the outbreak.

‘Between March and October 2020, we removed more than 12 million pieces of this type of content from our platforms. For other false claims, we continue to work with our 80 fact-checking organisations to debunk them and direct people to authoritative sources of information.’
