Criminals warned over new cameras
Criminals in Portsmouth have been warned as police vans with facial recognition are heading to the city.

The force’s Live Facial Recognition vans will be heading to Portsmouth on Wednesday 27 May, to help officers “target criminals and keep our communities safe”.
A social media post said: “The specialist team will be joining forces with our local officers to help identify suspects for high risk and priority offences, as well as helping to find any high risk missing people.”
Police said the new technology is “supporting our teams to get more criminals off our streets, justice for victims and keep people safe”.
Police rolled out two new fully-equipped vehicles for the first time in December following a successful pilot in 2o24.
