TOP detectives tracking down organised crime groups have launched a major search for a wanted criminal last seen in Portsmouth.

Officers from the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) are hunting for Terenc Malja, who is wanted in connection with immigration offences.

Malja, aged 31, who has links to the Isle of Wight, North London, Birmingham, Coventry and the Edinburgh area of Scotland, has been charged with conspiring to facilitate the commission of a breach of immigration law in connection with a SEROCU investigation.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.

He was last seen in Portsmouth in January 2021 and officers have been working to locate him.

Malja is white, 5ft 8ins tall, has short black hair with blue eyes. He speaks English with an Albanian accent and sometimes uses other names.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Adam Knight, of SEROCU, said: ‘If you have any details about the possible whereabouts of Terenc Malja please report this immediately. If you believe you’ve seen him or have any information about where he may be please avoid approaching him and instead contact police.’

Those with details about Malja’s whereabouts should call police on 101 quoting the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) investigation ‘Operation Segment’.
