Detectives quiz 55-year-old arrested after fatal Gosport stabbing

Detectives are continuing to quiz a man arrested on suspicion of murder after a fatal stabbing.

The 55-year-old man, from Gosport, was held on Saturday afternoon after the death of another man, 53, in Harwood Road, Bridgemary.

Police said it was an isolated incident with no risk to the wider public.

Neighbours told of their shock at the death, and how the street was shut off for several hours by police.

Officers had been called at around 3.15pm on Saturday, February 1.

Forensic officers were inside a home searching for evidence.

By Sunday the cordon had been lifted and a lone police car remained.

Neighbours said they were told of an argument heard inside the home before the stabbing.
