Dorset man arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and aggravated vehicle taking after Gosport crash

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and aggravated vehicle taking after a car ploughed into parked vehicles on a Gosport street.

Police were called to reports of a collision on Forton Road at 11.04pm last night (July 11).

A statement from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘An Audi car was in collision with several parked cars. Officers attended the incident and a 24-year-old man from Blandford Forum, Dorset, was arrested on suspicion of a drink driving offence and aggravated vehicle taking.’

A fire crew from Gosport also attended the collision and said the driver of the Audi was already receiving medical treatment for a head injury when they arrived and the matter had been passed into the hands of the police.

The arrested man is currently in police custody.

There was also a crash on Friday night in Gosport in which a car ended up on its roof. That one took place in South Street at 9pm.
