Drink-drive arrest in Locks Heath after pedestrian seriously injured in crash with car

POLICE have arrested a man and a woman after a pedestrian suffered life-changing injuries during a suspected collision with a car in Locks Heath.

Officers were called to Church Road after 11.20pm on Sunday, when a man in his 40s was found with severe injuries.

Officers attended and enquiries are being conducted as to the exact circumstances of the incident, according to a spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary.

He said: ‘A 39-year-old man and 36-year-old woman, both from Locks Heath, have been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, failing to stop after a road accident and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.’

They have both been released under investigation.
