Driver dies as tree falls onto his car in Storm Ciara gales in Hampshire

A DRIVER has been killed by a falling tree in Storm Ciara, police have said.

The 58-year-old died on Sunday on the A33 driving his Mercedes from Winchester to Micheldever at just before 4pm on Sunday.

Hampshire police said the man's next-of-kin have been informed.

A spokesman said: ‘The road was closed for several hours while emergency services attended.

‘Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
