Andrew Fullick, 24, of Fair Isle Close in Stubbington, appeared at Portsmouth Magistrate's Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to sending an offensive or menacing message and criminal damage.

The court heard how Fullick had an old mobile phone with a lewd picture of his former partner on it – and told one of her friends that he would release the image.

Prosecuting, Graham Heath said: 'There was an allegation of battery, but he was found not guilty.

'A friend became quite involved with the couple when they had an argument.

'There were a series of rather unpleasant messages sent, and he made some reference to having a photograph of her without her top on – and that he would post that on social media.’

The court also heard how Fullick went to the friend’s home and trashed items inside, doing about £400 worth of damage.

Addressing the judge, Fullick said that all communication between him and his former partner is now done through a third party, and agreed to keep it that way.

He said: ‘She’s doing what she wants to do with her life and I’m getting on with mine.’

Judge Peter Greenfield gave Fullick a community order with 60 hours of unpaid work, plus 15 rehabilitation days.

Fullick must also pay compensation of £400, a £90 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

Judge Greenfield said: ‘You must be civil (with her) and perhaps shouldn’t be speaking to her at all.

‘Just be careful.’
