Fratton computer technician breaks leg after 'lifting car off' woman involved in collision between car and motorcycle in North End
Drivers and passengers from surrounding vehicles leapt to help the woman, who was riding a Suzuki bike before becoming trapped under a blue Hyundai i2.
The crash happened at the junction of Heathfield Road and Kingston Crescent, in North End, at around 4.30pm on Monday.

Hide AdPolice told The News the woman suffered ‘serious but not life threatening injuries'.
Paul Joel, from Fratton, was among those who assisted her and went to Queen Alexandra Hospital himself with a broken leg after helping to lift the car.
The 42-year-old computer technician said: ‘I saw the accident happen and I just ran from my car to help her.
‘The car wheel was on her chest so we lifted the car to move it off her. It was really bad and she looked in a bad way. The car was crushing her.

Hide Ad‘I couldn’t believe how many people were just driving past but I think maybe they couldn’t see what happened because it was on a turning.
‘When the car got moved it went back down on my leg a little bit. I have had an x-ray and I broke my femur and my ankle. I am alright though and the important thing is that woman is alive.’
South Central Ambulance Service took the woman to Southampton General Hospital.
Anita Mills, a passing off-duty nursing associate at Queen Alexandra Hospital, was first to treat her at the scene.

Hide AdA male community nurse and a paramedic who were also passing stopped to help.
Anita, 50, who works on ward D8, said: ‘All three of us treated the motorcyclist prior to the ambulance arriving.
‘I also, once having helped to move the motorcyclist onto the stretcher, went to assist Mr Joel.’
Ms Mills, who graduated from Solent University days before lockdown began in March, added: ‘Without the funding provided by QA I certainly wouldn't have been able to go to university, or have been able to assist with the injured rider.’

Hide AdA police spokesman said: ‘It appears to be a car and motorcycle involved.
‘The woman motorcyclist received suspected serious but not life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
‘The car was a blue Hyundai i2 and the bike was a Suzuki.’
