Gang flash machete before robbing teenage boy of bike in Hampshire park

A TEENAGE boy was robbed in a Hampshire park after a gang flashed a machete at him.

The 14-year-old was walking through Riverside Park in Southampton with friends when a group of teenagers approached them and one lifted his top to show that he was carrying a machete in the waistband of his trousers.

The youngster had his bike, described as a Trek 6500, silver mountain bike, and chain taken from him.

A police spokesman said: ‘We‘re appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was robbed in Riverside Park, Southampton.

‘At around 3pm on Wednesday July 22 , a 14-year-old boy was walking through Riverside Park with two friends when he was approached by a group of teenagers.

‘One of the teenagers lifted up his top and showed the victim a machete that he was carrying in the waistband of his trousers.

‘A second teenager then approached the victim and took his bike and chain from around his neck before walking away.
