Gang rob victim, 21, in Leigh Park and attack him with 'sharp implement'

A GANG of ‘young men’ attacked a robbery victim in Leigh Park stealing his mobile phone.

Police said a ‘sharp implement’ was used and the 21-year-old man suffered minor injuries to his leg and chest.

Officers were called at around 8.30pm last night by medics from the South Central Ambulance Service.

No arrests have been made. Police said it happened in a pathway between Finchdean Road and Botley Drive.

A Hampshire police spokesman said: ‘We believe that the victim had been assaulted with a sharp implement and his mobile phone had been taken by a group of young men.

It comes after a group of 30 neighbours banded together to protect a pensioner from yobs in Leigh Park.
