Gosport baby murder arrest woman, 24, faces no further action, police confirm

AN INVESTIGATION into the death of a baby in Gosport has ended with no further action being taken against a woman.

A 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder after a 13-week-old baby died on March 10 last year.

As reported, paramedics were called to Howe Road at 8.52am to the youngster being seriously unwell.

The baby was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham but died.

An inquest will soon take place for the youngster.

A Hampshire police spokesman said: ‘Following a thorough investigation into the circumstances, and based on the evidence available to police, including expert medical opinions, a 24-year-old woman from Gosport who was arrested on suspicion of murder has now been released with no further action taken against her.’

‘Police will now be preparing a file for the coroner.’
