Gosport blaze currently being dealt with by firefighters

FIREFIGHTERS are currently on the scene tackling a grass fire in Gosport.

Multiple fire engines are attending the fire in the Fort Road area of Gosport.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service (HIWFRS) were called at just after 2.45pm and received a number of 999 calls.

HIWFRS issued the following advice: ‘People living nearby should shut windows and doors if they can smell smoke, and the public are asked to stay away from the area to allow firefighters to work.’
