A WOMAN is due to appear in court for threatening paramedics with a knife and holding them captive in a house for 20 minutes.

Two paramedics were allegedly detained by Kylie Mancell, 32, at her Tudor Close address in Gosport on Sunday at 5.50pm.

Police were called to the scene before Mancell was arrested and charged with common assault of an emergency worker and false imprisonment.

She was remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court today.

A police statement said: ‘(Mancell) was charged after two paramedics were threatened with a knife and detained in a residential property in Gosport for around 20 minutes.

‘Officers were called after we received a call from our colleagues at South Central Ambulance Service about threats being made to paramedics who were attending a call.

‘No-one was hurt and a woman was arrested shortly after we attended.’
