Hammer-wielding thieves attack tyre shop worker

TWO hammer-wielding thieves attacked a tyre company worker, police said.

It happened at 1am yesterday when the men attacked a staff member 
at Horndean Tyre Services, 
in Portsmouth Road, Horndean.

Hampshire police said the pair used the victim’s keys to get into the building.

He ran off and was uninjured.

But the thieves removed the two safes and drove off in a red car.

Both were carrying hammers, were white, slim, wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered.

One man had a local accent.

The first man was 6ft, and the other about 5ft 9in.
