Hampshire Police appeal for witnesses following Portsmouth flat burglary

A BACKPACK was stolen from a flat in an early-morning burglary in Portsmouth.

It happened on Friday.

A statement from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a flat in Portsmouth. We were called just after 6.05am to the incident, in which a man broke into a flat on Nelson Road and stole a backpack.’

The police would like to speak to a man in connection with the incident. He was black, about 20 years old, about 5ft 6in and slim. He wore a dark hooded top.

The statement added: ‘We would also like to speak to anyone that may have been in the area at the time or anyone that may have CCTV footage of the area.’
