Police charge Hampshire man, 51, after attempted abduction of toddler from pushchair

A 51-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with attempted child abduction after an incident involving a two-year-old girl near a Hampshire park.

A 25-year-old woman was pushing her daughter in a pushchair when they were approached by a man near Eastrop Park in Basingstoke at 4pm on Thursday.

He began speaking with the women, before trying to take the girl out of the pushchair.

Now, Mohamed Jarboui, 51, of New Street in Basingstoke, has been charged with attempted child abduction.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court later.
