Hampshire police confirm body found in Havant Thicket was of missing teen Louise Smith

POLICE have confirmed that a body found in a woodland area earlier this week was that of a missing teenager.

The body of Louise Smith, 16, was found by police in Havant Thicket on Thursday, May 21.

Louise, from Leigh Park, went missing on Friday, May 8, promting a large-scale search that included search and rescue teams from Hampshire, Sussex and the Isle of Wight.

Formal identification procedures have now been completed.
