Hampshire Police investigations chief backs new campaign against cyber crime
The government’s cyber security campaign Cyber Aware is urging people and businesses in Hampshire to think up strong computer passwords to minimise the risk of being hacked.
New government statistics reveal only 33 per cent of people in the south east are using strong passwords made up of three random words.

Hide AdHampshire Constabulary’s head of investigation command Detective Chief Superintendent Ben Snuggs said: ‘Personal passwords are the front doors to the most precious information about our lives, homes, families, finances and livelihoods.
‘These details deserve the best possible protection, which includes a strong password that can be remembered regularly, without being written down.
‘I call upon all of us to pay close attention to this advice in choosing and using three random words to form a password.’
