The court heard there is 'some concern that he is being cuckooed'.

Holly Barton, mitigating, said: 'There are concerns around him being taken advantage of by various individuals.

'They seem to be turning up at his address, banging on the door and they will stay there until he eventually lets them in.

'They take over his address, eat all his food and use all his electric and control what he does in that address.'

Agencies are now working with him. He has learning difficulties.

His lawyer said he jumped onto the bed not to evade police but to 'calm himself down'.

Humphries, who has learning difficulties, apologised in court.

District judge Gary Lucie said: 'There's going to come a time I'm afraid when this court is going to say enough it enough and you may find yourself in prison, which you don't want to find yourself in a place like that.

'What you can't do is assault police officers.'

Judge Lucie imposed a two-year community order with 35 days' rehabilitation activities with £100 compensation to pay. The police officer was not injured.
