Hayling Island man arrested after boy, 17, robbed at Hampshire recreation ground

A MAN has been arrested over the robbery of a teenage boy.

Hampshire police said a 21-year-old from Hayling Island is being questioned having been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

It comes after a 17-year-old boy was in the Newman Collard recreation ground in Liss on Sunday when he was approached at 8pm yesterday.

A man asked him for a lighted before carrying out an assault, leaving the boy with minor injuries, and taking his bag.

A police spokeswoman said: ‘Officers investigating the robbery would ask that anyone with information phone 101 with reference 44210136688. Alternatively, you can phone Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111.’

The arrested man is in custody, police said.
