Hilsea Lido flasher jailed

A FLASHER who exposed himself at Hilsea Lido and spat at a police officer has been jailed for 20 weeks.

Lee Hounsell, 39, of no fixed address, exposed himself on a footpath at Hilsea Lido in Portsmouth on April 18.

He also spat at PC Linda Davies in Deal Road, Cosham, on the same day.

District judge Anne Arnold jailed him for six weeks for the assault, 10 weeks for the exposure and four weeks for a public order offence.

The judge said there was ‘raised harm’ in the exposure incident and the assault was ‘disgusting’.

The court heard the footpath was busy at the time and Hounsell has a previous similar conviction.

Hounsell pleaded guilty to assaulting a constable in the execution of her duty and exposure at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

He also admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards Thomas Oatley with intent to cause fear of violence or provoke violence in Deal Road on the same day.

He was ordered to be put on the sex offenders’ register for seven years.

Hounsell must pay a £115 victim surcharge.

His guilty plea was taken into consideration when he was sentenced last month.
